Marion County Healthcare Foundation is looking for a part-time bookkeeper to work 8 – 10 hours a week as an independent consultant. The position will report to the Executive Director of MCHF.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years’ experience as a bookkeeper using QuickBooks accounting software. Candidate will be responsible for accounts payable, generating payments to vendors, monthly journal entries, processing payroll and payroll taxes. The bookkeeper will also be responsible for monthly reconciliation of bank and investment accounts.


- Recording of financial transactions

- Receiving invoices, recording bills and their payments

- Processing checks for Accounts Payable

- Reconciling checking accounts

- Reconciling monthly investment accounts

- Entering monthly journal entries for pre-paid expenses and depreciation

- Entering monthly journal entries for investment accounts

- Process payroll, payroll taxes and tax reporting


Previous bookkeeping experience

Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles

In depth knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software

BS in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs
